India and Israel have a signed an MoU on Defence Cooperation in Tel Aviv on Tuesday the 4th of November 2025, a day when Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar is in New Delhi on a strategically important visit.

Gideon Sa’ar met Jaishankar, the Minister for External Affairs (MEA).

A release by the MEA stated that discussions between the two encompassed the entire spectrum of the India–Israel Strategic Partnership.

They also reviewed the ongoing cooperation in domains including political, security, agriculture, trade and investment, defence and people-to-people ties, as well as critical and emerging technologies, semiconductors, cyber security and AI.

On the shared challenge of terrorism, both Ministers reaffirmed ensuring a global approach of zero-tolerance towards terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations.

The statement added that EAM Jaishankar expressed India’s support for the Gaza Peace Plan, welcomed the return of hostages and expressed hope that the Peace Plan paves way for a durable and lasting solution.

Both Ministers also discussed other global developments and furthering cooperation in multilateral fora. EAM and FM Sa’ar witnessed the exchange of Memorandum of Understanding on training between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

While all this was happening in New Delhi, in Tel Aviv the 17th meeting of Joint Working Group (JWG) took place on defence cooperation, co-chaired by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Director General of Israeli Ministry of Defence Maj Gen (Res) Amir Baram.

An MoU on Defence Cooperation was signed during the meeting to provide a unified vision and policy direction to deepen the already strong defence cooperation between the two countries.

A wide range of areas for cooperation have been identified in the MoU that will benefit both countries.

Important fields include strategic dialogues of mutual interest, training, defence industrial cooperation, and capabilities including Science & Technology, Research & Development and Technological Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security cooperation.
